FOUNDER
I'm Alicia and I'm so glad you're here!
Alicia is the founder and driving force behind Book Nerds Bookkeeping & Business Solutions, a successful, growing addition to the strong and vibrant business community in Grande Prairie, Alberta. Alicia uses her skills and professional acumen to create peace of mind for all of Book Nerd's clients, allowing them to focus on what matters in their business, knowing their bookkeeping and business needs are taken care of.
Alicia, a maritime transplant, has lived with her husband, two cats and a dog in Grande Prairie since 2013. When she isn’t working, she is spending time with family and friends, cooking, traveling, reading or just enjoying the peaceful moments in life. She has also volunteered her time and skills to different organizations locally. Currently she is the Director of Logistics on the GrandeCon Board, a great local event that combines her love of nerding out with raising money for the Odyssey House.
Melanie McBean
Melanie joined the Book Nerds in early 2023. She is what keeps the machine well-oiled and operating at peak performance. She is now an irreplaceable member of the team. She always brings her positive outlook and infectious upbeat attitude to work. Mel is approachable, a great listener, and sincerely interested in others’ ideas. She remains calm and collected in difficult situations, collects the facts, and identifies the best solutions which commonly result in successful outcomes.
Melanie was born and raised in Grande Prairie, Alberta living a true Alberta farm life. She lives there with her husband, two daughters, and one kitty. Melanie, a fellow entrepreneur, founded Lil’ Beans – Create-Imagine-Play, which she sold in 2023 to focus more on her family and a more structured career. When she isn’t working, she is spending time with family and friends, enjoying taking her daughters to their extracurricular activities and living for the summer where they love to be outdoors and camping.
Kristy Wagner
Kristy has been working with Book Nerds Bookkeeping on a part-time basis since February of 2023. In addition to her years of bookkeeping experience, she brings
her appetite for learning and growth as well as her strong business ethics
to the team. Having previously worked alongside Alicia during her first year
living in Grande Prairie, Kristy was delighted at the opportunity to work with her again. She has greatly enjoyed her time with the Book Nerds and looks forward
to continuing her role in growing the company and providing exceptional
service to all of their amazing clients.
Kristy grew up in the Peace Country and has enjoyed raising her three wonderful children in the same small-town environment. She loves being an active
community member and thoroughly enjoys volunteering her time at several
not-for-profit organizations. Kristy enjoys an active lifestyle and when she isn't
working you can find her biking, hiking, or at the gym.
Leah-Anne Carriere
Leah-Anne joined the Book Nerds Bookkeeping team in early 2023. Leah-Anne brings her love of working with numbers, integrity, and outgoing personality to the team. It is impossible not to smile when you are in her presence. Even though there are provinces between her and the hub, working with Book Nerds feels like she’s right next door!
Leah-Anne lives in Ontario with her husband and four amazing children. When Leah-Anne's focus is not on the client's books, she is enjoying outdoor adventures and games or you can find her curled up with a coffee in one hand, a book in the other and hanging out with her three favourite four-legged canine companions.

Tricia Epp
Tricia joined Book Nerds Bookkeeping in January 2022, making her the very first employee of Book Nerds and the foundation of a knowledgeable, professional and experienced team. She spent the majority of her career in the public sector in various capacities reporting financials and working with accounting departments.
Tricia and her loving husband Russ enjoy spending time with their children and 5 busy grandchildren. In her spare time, you can find her putting up fierce competition on the golf course.
Linda Duby
Linda joined Book Nerds in the autumn of 2022, bringing over a decade of bookkeeping knowledge and experience with her. You couldn’t ask for a more capable, organized, and detail-oriented professional. She is proud to be a part of the team and contribute to the culture of mentorship, encouragement, and growth. She enjoys the variety and challenge of working with many different clients whose businesses span multiple industries.
Linda was born and raised in Grande Prairie, having also raised all her four children here, it truly is home. She is the proud Grammy of five beautiful grandbabies and has hopes for many more! Being a Grammy is her favorite pastime. Exercise and being active are very important to her so she can keep up with the grandkids. Linda and her husband love spending their summers in the Okanagan, sailing the lake and enjoying each other’s company.
